Chicago born musical ensemble, Silk and Nightwind has spent years following the tradition of Chicago jazz musicians....being true to desires and passion of music innovation. Being in existence since the early 2000's, Silk and Nightwind had no desire to just cover music.  The mission statement of Nightwind has always been to present to their audiences comtemporary jazz pop, contemporary rhythm and blues, soul and groove music

that people have heard, in a way that they have never heard it and music that they have never heard (original compositions and original arrangements).  Playing with contemporary greats such as Roy Ayers and Vernell Brown Jr., (a protege of Herbie Hancock) has taught Silk and Nightwind one essential musical philosophy....know yourself and be true to oneself.  Musical influences include such artists as  Sade, Herbie Hancock, Joni Mitchell, Smokey Robinson, Incognito, and Al Jarreau to mention a few. These talents have shown Silk and Nightwind the way down the proverbial music rabbit hole.

Not meaning to name drop but members of Nightwind have played with some of the industries most significant artists such as Lalah Hathaway, Will Downing, Boz Scaggs, Usher, Maysa, Brian McKnight and Prince to mention a few
